For International Childhood Cancer Day 2016, CCI in collaboration with the creative team of Garbergs
( an international advertising firm based in Sweden ), Barncancerfonden Sweden (Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation, a CCI member organization) and CCI Europe team, launched Child4Child, a spectacular, one of a kind global event.
In support of the hundreds of thousands of children around the world who are bravely battling childhood cancer, Childhood Cancer International (CCI) teamed up with Christophe Beck, famous for his creation of the soundtrack to Disney’s smash hit Frozen, and his 12-year-old daughter Sophie, to create a new song, “We Are One,” written just for International Childhood Cancer Day.
This incredible campaign was meant to help raise awareness that kids have cancer too as well as honor kids who are bravely fighting cancer. It invited and encouraged children all over the world to RAISE THEIR VOICES AGAINST CHILDHOOD CANCER by singing, dancing, miming, acting to the chorus of the song.
Close to a million kids contributed their creative and personal versions of the song in the karaoke like website created for the campaign. The consolidated full version of the song was released on global digital music platforms such as Spotify, iTunes as well as on YouTube on February 15th, 2016—International Childhood Cancer Day. It went viral by the third day and by the end of the campaign period had 365 million loops and 25 million likes in various social media outlets and apps. Child Ambassadors for this campaign included Alexa Curtis (winner of The Voice Kids Australia 2014, Livvy Stubenrauch (the voice of Anna in Disney’s Frozen), Robbie Firmin (Britain’s Got Talent) and Aaralyn O’Neil (America’s Got Talent).
The Global Premiere of “We are One” was held in Barncancerfonden office in Sweden with the presence of Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi of United Arab Emirates, Carmen Auste, CCI Chair and Sophie Beck. The live streaming was watched in 35 countries.
