Dear Members, Survivors and Friends,
We are happy to announce that after 5 years, the annual Childhood Cancer International (CCI) conference is
back in Asia!!
Our conference theme this year is our CCI tagline: Advancing Cure, Transforming Care. This builds on the promise our founding members made 24 years ago that children with cancer everywhere, will get the best possible treatment and care.
The conference will be held on 16-19 November 2018 in Kyoto, one of the most beautiful historical cities in Japan and the Imperial Capital of Japan for 1,000 years. The CCI Survivors Program will be on 14-15 November 2018. You will find the initial information about the conference on the official website,

The topics will cover:
1) Understanding Impact of Having A Child with Cancer on Family Dynamics (e.g effect on Parents Health and couple relationships, effect on siblings, and effect on family quality of life);

2) Unpacking Standards of Care for Adolescents and Young Adults with Childhood Cancer;

3) Emerging Trends in Survivorship Care and Reintegration Programs;

4) Exploring Innovations and Best Practices in Childhood Cancer Care (with focus on psychosocial support, nutrition, education, supportive care, grief and bereavement, palliative care and pain management);

5) The Role and Contributions of Parents and Families in Multidisciplinary Treatment and Care;

6) Engaging and Mobilizing Stakeholders for Organizational Growth and Impact.

Official Letter of Invitation

Official letters of invitation designed to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries will be sent on request from the SIOP Secretariat (not the CCI Head Office). If you require an original letter, it is recommended that you send your request 3 months in advance to account for delivery by post and administrative time. Please use the Contact Us form on the conference website to request the letter.

We have a limited number of CCI scholarships for members and members to be. You can contact Patty Brouwer at the Head Office for an application form:
Extended deadline: The stipend application form and additional documents have to be submitted before 15 July 2016. Applications received after this date will not be processed.

The best way to access Trinity College is through the main gates on College Green. The entrance to the Long Room is in Fellows Square through the Library Shop and Book of Kells exhibition (3 minute walk from the entrance)

CCI Gala Dinner

Dress code: Smart casual
Time: Thursday 20th October, 7 – 11pm
Location: Smock Alley Theatre Banquet Hall

The location is 2.2km from the Convention Centre. This is approximately half an hour walking.

The 7th CCI Europe Regional Conference (22 – 24 April 2016)

The 7th CCI Europe Regional Conference
Dear members, survivors and friends,
The 7th CCI Europe Regional Conference will be held in Belgrade (Serbia) from 22 – 24 April 2016. We are very happy that the Serbian Childhood Cancer Network will host the meeting.

For the first time we will have an Introduction round on “CCI work & EU projects overview” before the conference. The Introduction round will be held on Friday 22nd of April 2016 from 14.00 – 15.45.

The CCI Europe Regional Conference will start afterwards at 16.00 and will last till Sunday 24th of April 2016 (around 13.00).

Call for topics: Next year we want to focus on one particular topic, “The European Standards of Care”. If you have topics or projects, related to the European Standards of Care send us a short description or abstract.
