Across the world, Childhood Cancer International (CCI) members are working to improve the lives of children and adolescents with cancer, survivors, and their families. From innovative programmes and fundraising initiatives to advocacy campaigns and survivorship support, their work makes a difference in communities around the world.
The President's Recognition Awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of CCI member organisations and recognise initiatives that demonstrate innovation, impact, creativity and a commitment to improving childhood cancer care and support.
Each year, CCI members nominate organisations whose work deserves recognition across five award categories. The awards provide an opportunity to celebrate these achievements, share inspiring initiatives across the CCI community, and highlight approaches that may encourage and inform the work of other organisations.

2026 CCI President's Recognition Award for Most Outstanding Survivor Program
Childhood cancer survivorship extends beyond the end of treatment. Survivors may need ongoing support, opportunities to connect with others who share similar experiences, and resources to help them navigate life after cancer.
The CCI President's Recognition Award for Most Outstanding Survivor Program recognises initiatives that excel in supporting, serving and empowering childhood cancer survivors.
In 2026, the award was presented to Centro de Apoyo a Niños con Cáncer (CANICA), Mexico, in recognition of its National Survivors Camp, a programme providing comprehensive, long-term support to childhood cancer survivors.
Supporting survivors beyond treatment
CANICA's National Survivors Camp brings together medical education, psycho-oncology, peer support and leadership development. By combining these elements, the programme provides survivors with opportunities to learn, connect with peers and develop skills that can support them beyond their cancer treatment.
The camp has reached 99 survivors from 16 Mexican organisations across four editions, establishing itself as a national initiative rather than one limited to the work of a single organisation.
Inspiring initiatives beyond Mexico
The programme's influence extends beyond its immediate participants. Its approach has inspired survivor initiatives elsewhere in Mexico and in Costa Rica, while organisations from several other Latin American countries have engaged with the model.
This potential for wider application highlights the value of sharing approaches to survivorship support across the childhood cancer community.
Celebrating CANICA
CCI congratulates CANICA on receiving the 2026 President's Recognition Award for Most Outstanding Survivor Program. The recognition celebrates its work to provide long-term support to survivors and its contribution to the development of survivorship initiatives across the region.

2026 CCI President's Recognition Award for Most Innovative Fundraising Campaign
Fundraising plays a vital role in sustaining childhood cancer organisations and enabling them to support children with cancer and their families. Innovative approaches can do more than generate financial resources: they can also respond directly to families' needs and create opportunities for meaningful support.
The CCI President's Recognition Award for Most Innovative Fundraising Campaign recognises creative, impactful and successful fundraising initiatives that generate significant support relative to an organisation's resources and contribute to its long-term sustainability.
In 2026, the award was presented to LÖSEV, Türkiye, in recognition of its Goodness Bazaar, an initiative that combines fundraising and in-kind donations with practical support for families affected by childhood cancer.
Fundraising that puts families first
LÖSEV's Goodness Bazaar offers families a way to access essential goods while preserving their dignity and freedom of choice. Within the marketplace, families use symbolic LÖSEV Money to select the items they need, including food, clothing, toys and household goods.
Rather than simply distributing predetermined packages, the initiative allows families to choose what is most useful to them. This approach brings together fundraising, donated goods and family support in a model designed around the needs and preferences of the people it serves.
Bringing communities together
The Goodness Bazaar operates across several major cities in Türkiye, supported by donors, companies, volunteers and logistics partners. This network helps bring resources together and make practical assistance available to families.
By combining community participation with a family-centred approach, the initiative demonstrates how fundraising can be connected directly to tangible support for those facing the challenges of childhood cancer.
Celebrating LÖSEV
CCI congratulates LÖSEV on receiving the 2026 President's Recognition Award for Most Innovative Fundraising Campaign. The recognition celebrates its creative approach to mobilising resources and providing families with meaningful support while respecting their individual needs and choices.

2026 CCI President's Recognition Award for Best New Innovative Programme
Where children live can influence how quickly they are diagnosed and whether they can access specialised childhood cancer care. In countries where specialist services are concentrated in particular locations, geographical barriers can make timely diagnosis, referral and treatment more difficult for children and their families.
The CCI President's Recognition Award for Best New Innovative Programme recognises creative and innovative initiatives that make a significant contribution to childhood cancer care at the regional, national or global level.
In 2026, the award was presented to Fundación Renaci, Paraguay, in recognition of TELENEC, a digital health initiative designed to help address geographical inequalities in childhood cancer care across the country.
Connecting healthcare professionals with specialist expertise
TELENEC connects healthcare professionals across Paraguay with paediatric oncology specialists, helping to support earlier diagnosis and timely referral for children who may live far from specialist centres.
The programme uses digital tools to facilitate multidisciplinary case discussions, professional training and access to clinical protocols. By strengthening connections between healthcare professionals, TELENEC aims to help improve the identification of childhood cancer and support more consistent care across different parts of the country.
Strengthening pathways to care
Beyond connecting professionals, TELENEC supports standardised referral pathways and patient navigation. These elements help address challenges that can arise when children need to move between healthcare facilities or access specialised services.
By bringing specialist knowledge and practical guidance closer to healthcare professionals throughout Paraguay, the initiative offers an approach to reducing geographical barriers and supporting continuity of care for children with cancer.
Celebrating Fundación Renaci
CCI congratulates Fundación Renaci on receiving the 2026 President's Recognition Award for Best New Innovative Programme. The recognition celebrates its use of digital health to strengthen connections between healthcare professionals and paediatric oncology specialists, helping address inequalities in access to childhood cancer care across Paraguay.

2026 CCI President's Recognition Award for Most Up and Coming CCI Member
For families whose children are receiving cancer treatment far from home, finding a place to stay can be an additional source of stress. Accommodation is only one part of the challenge: families may also need help with transportation, food, education and emotional support while navigating an already difficult period.
The CCI President's Recognition Award for Most Up and Coming CCI Member recognises a member organisation demonstrating notable growth, innovation and potential, alongside a meaningful contribution to the childhood cancer community.
In 2026, the award was presented to Access Life Assistance Foundation, India, in recognition of its growing network of Home Away From Home centres, which provide accommodation and practical support to families travelling for their children's cancer treatment.
Growing a network of support
Access Life has grown from an initiative operating in one city into a national network of 14 Home Away From Home centres across 10 Indian cities. Together, these centres can support more than 228 families at a time.
Working in collaboration with paediatric oncology hospitals, the organisation provides families with accommodation close to treatment facilities. This helps address one of the practical challenges families face when their child needs care away from their home community.
Support beyond accommodation
Access Life's work extends beyond providing a place to stay. Its centres also offer support with nutrition, transportation, education, counselling and caregiver needs.
By bringing these services together, the organisation aims to ease some of the practical and emotional pressures families experience during treatment. With plans to establish additional centres, Access Life is continuing to expand its network and reach more families across India.
Celebrating Access Life Assistance Foundation
CCI congratulates Access Life Assistance Foundation on receiving the 2026 President's Recognition Award for Most Up and Coming CCI Member. The recognition celebrates the organisation's growth, its commitment to supporting families throughout childhood cancer treatment and its contribution to expanding access to Home Away From Home services in India.

2026 CCI President's Recognition Award for Most Innovative and Impactful Advocacy or Awareness Campaign
Raising awareness of childhood cancer is an important step towards improving early diagnosis and access to appropriate care. Advocacy initiatives can bring together different stakeholders to address challenges such as delayed diagnosis, weak referral pathways and limited public awareness.
The CCI President's Recognition Award for Most Innovative and Impactful Advocacy or Awareness Campaign recognises outstanding and creative campaigns that raise awareness and make an impact at the national, regional or global level.
In 2026, the award was presented to CanKids KidsCan, India, in recognition of Fight RB India, an initiative dedicated to improving awareness and advocacy around retinoblastoma.
Building a national movement
Fight RB India has developed from India's first national multi-stakeholder movement dedicated to retinoblastoma into a broader advocacy effort addressing delayed diagnosis, weak referral pathways and limited public awareness.
The initiative brings together clinicians, hospitals, survivors, families and civil-society partners. By connecting these stakeholders, Fight RB India links awareness efforts with earlier detection and access to appropriate care.
Strengthening the retinoblastoma care ecosystem
A particular strength of Fight RB India is its systemic approach. Rather than focusing on raising awareness alone, the initiative uses advocacy to help improve the wider ecosystem of retinoblastoma care across India.
By bringing together stakeholders from across the childhood cancer community, Fight RB India addresses challenges affecting both awareness and access to care.
Celebrating CanKids KidsCan
CCI congratulates CanKids KidsCan on receiving the 2026 President's Recognition Award for Most Innovative and Impactful Advocacy or Awareness Campaign. The recognition celebrates its work to advance retinoblastoma advocacy in India and its commitment to connecting awareness with earlier detection and access to appropriate care.
