A significant step forward for children with cancer worldwide
We welcome the adoption of the Final Political Declaration on Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health by the United Nations General Assembly—a landmark achievement for global childhood cancer advocacy.
Crucially, the Declaration reaffirms the Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer (GICC) target of achieving at least 60% survival for children with cancer globally by 2030. This inclusion reflects the power of sustained, collective advocacy led by families, civil society, clinicians, and partners across the world.
At Childhood Cancer International, we stand ready to support efforts to ensure that governments translate these high-level commitments into tangible action for children with cancer, pediatric noncommunicable diseases, and sickle cell disease. Together, we will continue working to ensure that no child is left behind.
Together, we can save more children’s lives.
